DigitalGrin > Daniel P Woods  > National Parks, and Wilderness Galleries > Canyonlands Utah
We spent the whole day in Canyon lands National Park, Utah. We first had to drag ourselves out of bed at 5:00am to be able to get to Mesa Arch for sunrise. Only 20 people were staking out a spot for sunrise, not bad. I was able to get a few nice photos. We next decided to take Shaefer Rim Road down to the lower canyon. As you drive along the road we found a route back to Back to Moab on Potash road. If you plan to drive you should use a jeep, truck or large SUV . Give yourself lots of time and don't go if it looks like rain or snow! Part of the road never sees the sun and part of Potash Road is a "Dry" river in a slot canyon. Potash Road has a lot of Indian petroglyphs on the walls of the canyon. We took the photos of the petroglyphs on a different day before the trip down Shaefer Rim road. Some of the photos above the rim are from a different trip. Enjoy.
